Can you please leave us the ocean?
Can you please leave us the ocean?
This one comes from a poem my 8-year-old grandson wrote in which he says:
Excuse me sir, could you leave us the ocean?
Without too much acidification
And perhaps, you might like to take out some plastic
That's found it's way into every river sea and cell,
Every breath, every bath, every coral cave's crevice
Every dying duck.
If I spit out my gum, don't run on the grass
If I take out the bins and take them back in
Excuse me sir, then could you leave us the ocean?
That just about sums it up for me. It's his generation that will have to deal with the mess we are making.
This is a 60cmx70cm framed oil painting. It is a one-off original with no prints made.
